Susanne Hætta

Jeg er en samisk kunster, fotograf og forfatter som bor i Čáhcesuolu/Vadsø, Finnmark. I mitt arbeid vektlegger jeg det arktiske livet og den samiske kunsten og kulturen. Jeg er autodidakt og gjør både fotooppdrag og egne kunstprosjekter. De siste utstillingene jeg har vært representert på, er jubileumsutstillingene til NNBK i Kirkenes, Tromsø, Bodø og Harstad (2021) , Fotografiets Dag på Preus Fotomuseum august 2021, Sápmi Samtid på Galleri A i Oslo og Let the River flow, kuratert av Oca og vist i Oslo, Sør-Troms, Stockholm og Karasjok 2018-2020. Jeg deltar på åpningsutstillingen Jeg kaller det kunst på det nye Nasjonalmuseet i Oslo i 2022. I det siste har jeg begynt å også jobbe med pels, hår, tekstil og plast.

I am Sámi photographer, artist and writer based in Čáhcesuolu/Vadsø, Finnmark. My work has an emphasis on Arctic life and Sámi arts and culture. I am self-taught, and do both commissioned photographic work, and my own projects. The last exhibition I had works in was the NNBK’s anniversary exhibitions in Kirkenes, Tromsø, Bodø and, Harstad , Fotografiets Dag at Preus Fotomuseum august 2021, Sápmi Samtid at Galleri A in Oslo and "Let the River flow", curated by Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA), and shown in Oslo, Sør-Troms, Stockholm and Karasjok 2018-2020. My next is the opening exhibition “Jeg kaller det kunst” at the new Norwegian National Gallery in Oslo, 2022. Lately, I have also started working with fur, hair, fabric and plastic.
