Tirsdag 26. november arrangerer Nordnorsk kunstnersenter i samarbeid med Talent Norge, Kunstakademiet i Tromsø og SpareBank 1 Nord-Norges Samfunnsløftet seminar på Kunstakademiet i Tromsø om mentorarbeid og talentutvikling.

Dette blir en interessant og nyttig dag både for unge kunstnere og alle som er opptatt av unge kunstnere, med mulighet til innblikk i mye praktisk erfaring.

Talent Norge og SpareBank 1 Nord-Norges Samfunnsløftet har støttet kunstnersenterets program NNKS Talent i tre år, på samme måte som de støtter en rekke andre programmer i Nord-Norge.

What a coach could do for an artist

Coaching is part of Talent Norway’s ArtEx programme – a programme open to recently graduated artists from various art forms. Coach Kea Ostavny and participant in Talent Norway’s ArtEx programme Liv Barbosa Blad talk about their collaboration.

Nordnorsk Kunstnersenter’s mentor programme

Talent NNKS is a mentor programme organised by the Nordnorsk Kunstnersenter (NNKS). During the last 3 years, 12 younger artists have participated in the programme. The art center’s director Svein Ingvoll Pedersen talks about the programme and experiences acquired.

Mentoring – panel conversation with mentors and participants

Mentoring is a core element in many of Talent Norge’s programmes. Participants and mentors talk about what mentoring can be and share their experiences. Participants Toril Johannessen (Mentor, NNKS Talent-programme), Ayatgali Tuleubek, Thea Meinert, Ananda Serné (Participants, NNKS Talent-programme) and Per Martinsen (Mentor, Insomnia’s Cloud Exit-programme). Moderated by Svein Ingvoll Pedersen.

After the Art Academy 1

Artist Torill Johannessen talks about attending study programmes and residencies after graduating from the art academy – in her case among others The Mountain School of Arts in California and the residency program at WIELS in Brussels – and what it meant to her.

Students Emilie Ieremia and Mihaly Stefanovicz, and Ruth Aitken, recent graduate from the The Academy of Arts in Tromsø  share their thoughts on the transition from the academy to life as professional artist. Moderated by Hanne Hammer Stien.

Ruben Steinum shares his thoughts on what it takes to be an artist in the future. (Steinum is Chair of Norske Billedkunstnere (NBK) and former Chair of the Unge Kunstneres Samfund).
