The exhibition is shown at Jacobsenbrygga as part of the Helgeland Festival which opens on June 29 June and is on view until August 11.
This year's festival exhibition is based on the history surrounding the Lofoten Line: a large-scale national initiative from 1861 which was supposed to make the Lofoten fishery more efficient. With its 170 km of submarine cables and land lines, the facility constituted the country's first telegraph line outside the main telecommunications network.
